Communication Skills Coaching
Coaching is a great option if you want customized training that’s scheduled at your convenience.
We start by assessing your writing or presentations to determine exactly what you need. We teach you only what’s necessary and help you apply your new skills to your own writing and presentations.
Because coaching is so targeted, it tends to take less time. Often, three 2-hour meetings are enough to produce noticeable improvement.
It’s best to separate the meetings by a week to give you time to digest and apply your new skills.

Writing Skills Coaching Process
Wavelength’s one-to-one writing skills coaching sessions are tailored to each learner’s specific learning needs, usually in a three-phase approach.
First, we figure out what you need. We ask for some samples of your writing, which the coach reviews. The coach then reaches out to schedule a short telephone meeting to get acquainted, and clarify objectives and expectations. The coach may also talk to your manager and others who can provide feedback about your writing skills.
Based on this, the client and coach collaboratively establish objectives and a timetable for the coaching sessions.
Structured coaching sessions include exercises and examples from a Wavelength course workbook to introduce our framework, relevant skills and vocabulary. Coaching helps you meet the specific learning objectives identified in phase one, by mastering writing techniques that make documents more concise, quicker to read and easier to understand.
Between coaching sessions, you continue to practice new skills and techniques in day-to-day work. You will also share drafts with your Wavelength coach, who provides feedback and guidance.
The coaching sessions can be face-to-face or virtual. We usually find 3 two-hour meetings are enough.
To ensure learning transfer, you send real documents and reports to the coach, who in turn sends written feedback based on a checklist of best practices. With this approach, you receive timely feedback on your work and can apply it immediately.
Finally, the Wavelength coach provides an update about your progress, and we mutually decide if any further coaching is needed.

Presentations Skills Coaching Process
Our one-on-one coaching is for any level employee who needs to improve their presentation skills. We tailor our coaching sessions to the individual’s specific needs, usually in a three-phased approach.
This phase can be handled through structured interviews or telephone meetings.
First, we figure out what you need. You meet your coach to get acquainted, and clarify objectives and expectations. The coach may also talk to your manager and others who can provide feedback about your presentation skills.
Based on this, the client and coach will collaboratively establish objectives and a timetable for the coaching sessions.
The second phase involves a structured coaching workshop supported through video and coaching. This helps you meet the objectives identified in phase one. First, you deliver a presentation and the coach records it. You then watch the video together and set goals. The coach provides presentation skills targeted to your needs, and you practice and polish them in the coaching sessions. We provide feedback and learning to support both the content and delivery of the presentation.
We provide suggestions for continued improvement when you provide us with a recording of a presentation.
