When AI Can Draft it for You
Not every document needs to sound like you — sometimes the content matters more than the voice.
Here are some documents you can let AI write for you:
When the document is functional, not personal
Examples:
- Routine emails
- Status updates, project briefs
- Meeting agendas and minutes
- Research summaries
These documents don’t build relationships, and the content is more important than the voice.
When the audience is unknown to you or very large
Some documents need to reach a wide audience, and they don’t need to sound like you. Rely more heavily on AI in those situations. Here are some examples of such documents:
- Job descriptions
- Procedures
- Website copy
- FAQs
You still want to edit the output for accuracy, readability and clarity, and you’ll want to get rid of the most obvious AI markers.
The key is knowing the difference between documents that need you and documents that just need to get done.
