How Wavelength Helped Scientists Speak to Decision Makers
A supervisor for a group of about 30 scientists in a medical device company reached out to Wavelength to discuss presentation skills training for his team. Members of his team, many of whom were newly minted PhDs, were having difficulty turning complex ideas them into opinions to present to decision makers. They were getting stuck in the details and not presenting the big picture in a cogent and concise manner.
After consulting with Wavelength, the supervisor decided to provide Presenting to Groups to half his team. If he saw that the training got results, he would schedule training for the other half of his team. The course was facilitated on-site by two Wavelength instructors.
The course was very successful. One participant reported that they benefited from learning “a systemized listener focused method to consistently build and deliver effective presentations.” Another participant shared that they “learned best practices for handling questions, and for being a more compelling persuader by stating a clear purpose at the beginning of a presentation.”
The supervisor is pleased with the positive changes he has seen, and he scheduled training in the new budget year for the other half of his team.
